Spirits

   In squalor pitched
straight in the pit
of nights spiting fire.
In view to all the blind
the warmth may bring.
A fiery bursting, spinning,
swirling in blackness fury.
It burns with an unholy beast
 to frequent the fragile spirits
 in their glass houses.
I drink to blind the visions
of bruised and battered day's.
That tend to visit my shortened spirit.
I tip the shot glass over.
My day is done.                                                                 (6-28-10)

I Remember Soldier Girl

    I stand, a soldier,
derelict in duty.
In between the sands.
Tumbling round & tumbling through,
the hourglass grinding grains between sounds.
   Through sandman's dreams.
She comes in the grace and civility.
Of a time already gone,
she feels, but a faded memory.
But I have yet too,
meet her, greet her.
     So smiling standing in,
such a way that memory loves.
I feel hands grasping at mine, clumsily.
All in good time.
At long fingers on delicate hands.
I find her, I smile.
I walk on still mornings
with a remembered smile.
I remember soldier girl, I remember.                         (6-18-10) revised(10-13-10)

Lie & Still You Are My Beauty

    In the night.
She is my graceful lily.
I found in a fated meeting.
A blessed breath caress,
my pale and weary body.
    A new life.
Made from puzzles,
pieces of a once round mirror.
I see a forehead, left cheek,
chin, and right part of my nose.
With a left eye to blink.
In this fractured imagery
I find a right and similar view of both.
In my head and reality.                                                           (5-21-10)

    For fractured grace,
I find comfort in sweet embrace.
In loving arms, rosy eyes, and deaf ears.
I find no fault in your grace.
I quiver for you sweet embrace.
   I will live,
for none, but save you.
For my breath is yours to take.                                                (5-22-10)

Song of the Swiss Guards (1793)

Our life is a journey
Through winter and night,
We look for our way
In a sky without light.

Poetry & New Family

I find some solace in poetry. I plan on a poem a day. I will write other things as well, but I will give my poems of dark & light some voice everyday that I can. If I leave for a few days, I will post as many as I will be gone.
I'm also very excited about a new baby to be coming in February. I'm going to be a father for the fifth time. It also will probably be the last, or not. We will see. I'm already blessed with four. So hey, I don't want to hog all those souls waiting for their time around. I'm very happy to have such a supportive wife. I need that to continue my art. My writing, painting and sculpting. It all needs a little push. Thank you, Honey

Mahalo.

Clozaril

I tried a medicine called Clozaril. I'm very sensitive to drugs. I guess I only took it for 6 weeks with underwhelming results. I forgot everything, drooled, and became very much like a stuffed animal. In such a way as felt like I was filled with cotton, and cold like I had been sitting on a shelf. I also had pain in my chest, arms, and legs. So for my family and I. I had to give up on this medicine. It might work for you. If you need a major sedative to stop the torment, beyond what other medicines can do. It just could be the medicine for you.

Mahalo.

Gin & Cranberry

     Gin & cranberry.
Oh my, I fail to see a dream,
that you possess.
One that you clutch,
and caress.
Alcohol and drugs
are fancy friends of mine.
I'm burning out,
the candles waning.
Something I do very willingly,
to wander around smiling.

P.s. I wrote this in a depressive cycle.
